Please view the source of this HTML document to see how I set this up. This page is just a simple 3-row table with it's height and weight attributes set to 100%. You can play with these numbers to see how it will look. If you use your mouse to resize the window, you will see that the table will always take up the full window. Now, this full screen web page design has advantages and disadvantages. The main advantage is that it will adapt itself to any screen resolution. The major disadvantage is that it can limit your control over placement of content. When you design for a specific screen resolution, you can control where your images will be, or how long a sentence will go until it wraps around to the next line. With this kind of layout, you have to be careful not to put too little content in the window, otherwise a viewer with a high screen resolution (1024x768) will have a bunch of white space at the bottom of their page. |
